Mahria-S/T Casette 2011

________________________________________________________
I came across this album a couple days ago while i was searching the web for a little inspiration for my bands new album. At points i lose a little faith in the "Skramz" and "Hardcore" scenes, I feel like i am constantly bombarded with regurgitated music from the top ranking bands that everyone reps on their hoodies at a show, and it is far and few in between when i find something i can say feels new and refreshing to me in this day and age of punk music [End pretentious rant]. But within the first 2 songs of this album i was already throwing it in my notes for a future review. Weaving from intricate twinkley guitars that wouldn't be out of place on Kidcrash's "Jokes" LP, into many a harsh fast/heavy part that could rival many thrash bands out there, Mahria stitches together 7 songs of pure genius seamlessly with wonderful results. Corby's vocals on top of this combo are so addicting that i find this album one of the hardest to put down over the past month. With all that, it is safe to say this is an album you will not want to miss regardless of what background you are coming from. Don't want to take my word for it? Check them out right here:
